About Nansi and david gallup

Molono Island as a Home and Studio

Nansi and David are fine artists, widely respected for their pioneering work in bringing ocean life and coral reefs to canvas.  A passion for ocean conservation and a love of diving and snorkeling the world's tropical coral reefs led them around the globe on a search for the perfect tropical island studio.

Today, they are designing that studio on Molono Island, Vanuatu.  In addition to the studio, the couple have refurbished a low-impact eco-paradise as a personal residence, with the idea that it could also serve as the perfect romantic getaway for honeymoons and romantic celebrations.

The Gallups are reluctant to use photographs for their paintings, preferring instead to work from memory.  Because of this, having a studio steps from beautiful diving and snorkeling was a priority.  Being close to an international airport (just thirty minutes from Molono), East Santo feels close to the rest of the world.  Nearby restaurants like Turtle Bay Lodge, Barrier Beach,  and the Black Pearl have established fine dining options and international cuisine as excellent options for international visitors.

Please follow Nansi and David's progress on this site to learn about opportunities to visit one of the most beautiful private island escapes in the world.  To learn more about their artwork, visit www.artofthedive.com

Owner's Statement

Our Vision:

We have created a modern home, where romance meets barefoot elegance.  This home functions as our South Pacific art studio where we can be inspired by world class diving and snorkeling, and create on the spot while the inspiration is fresh.  The moment we set foot on Molono Island, we knew we had found our second home.

We love our home in California, and all of our friends and family there.  We envision spending about half of our time in California, and half in Vanuatu.  When we are in California, we would like to share our little tropical paradise with adventurous and romantic couples who seek the ultimate in privacy and luxury.

Molono Island is a romantic paradise built just for two.

About the Art

Nansi Bielanski Gallup & David C. Gallup are fine artists living in Southern California and Vanuatu. Inspired by their worldwide scuba dives, their art depicts motion, confusion, figures, sea creatures and brightly colored reef life. Their style (which they have named Experientialism) is based on some of the conceptually intriguing aspects of Cubism fused with Abstraction, Pop, Impressionism and Realism. While they each paint individually, many of their canvases are collaborations, working in turns or simultaneously on the same canvas toward expressing their shared vision. Their work is exhibited in Museums around the world.
