We first learned about Vanuatu as a mecca for SCUBA diving and snorkeling enthusiasts. Vanuatu sits on the South-Eastern tip of an area known as the Coral Triangle. This part of the world is considered the global center of marine biodiversity, including 76% of the world's shallow reef-building coral species.
As such, Molono Island is perfectly situated on one of the healthiest, most diverse and pristine reefs in the world. As the owners of Molono Island and its private house reef (which extends over 750 meters), it is our honor to be the custodians and humble protectors of this reef.
Established in 1980, Vanuatu is a newly independent republic built on a long tradition of using compassion and morality along with honest debate to resolve differences. The Ni-Van people are proud of their democracy and their heritage, and they are always happy to share their beautiful country with visitors. Vanuatu is consistently rated as one of the most deservedly-happy populations in the world, and that happiness rubs off on visitors the second they arrive.
Treading gently is our mantra. In the Vanuatu tradition, all fish are deepwater line-caught or speared, all fruits and vegetables are organic and locally sourced, and no single-use plastic water bottles are allowed on Molono. All electricity is solar, and the water is filtered rainwater from right here on Molono Island. Clean, reusable aluminum or glass water bottles are available to guests for hydrating on the beach or taking around Santo on excursions.
Here, our reefs are free of fishing line or hooks, the resident fish are diverse and abundant, and turtles nest on the beaches in complete safety.
This Vanuatu Island Resort is a sacred space to connect with nature, with art, with one another.
Spoiler: #1 is in Iceland, if that's your thing. We're sure its beautiful, but we'll let others "enjoy" that place...
Comfortably nestled in the Bay of Islands, Deeper Love Resort is within reach of the mainland by kayak.
Molono Island is in a sheltered lagoon that never leaves one feeling isolated or lost at sea.
